Best Deal in Ascona! Super Pizza immer frisch und knusprig und dazu noch sehr gross. Da braucht man kann Vorspeise um satt zu werden! Daneben tolle Auswahl an Pasta, Risotto und Fleischgerichten. Einmalige Lage. Im Sommer abends immer total voll. Das spricht wohl für sich! Weiter so! | ||||||||||||||

Ahahah! I fully agree with Jeff... did the mistake of eating at Fred Feldpausch's and I got an average, overpriced (even for Ascona's standard... something like 26.-) pizza. And it was sooo windy outside that it became almost impossible to eat. Ask for a place in? and you will get a nice "NO" even if there are free tables. Avoid. |

Totally unhappy with this place! They placed us outside, it was a bit frisky but still ok and we took our seats. Then it started raining, this before the pizzas were even delivered and we asked to be moved inside. The waiter went asking but the boss did give the two free tables to other people, of course new customers that would bring him even more money. We complained and he said: "is this my problem? didn't you look at the sky before sitting?". That was it, we just paid the drinks and we told them to keep the pizzas that were ready in the meantime. The owner is a German (Fred Something)... avoid this place like plague. Anyway very overpriced and there are so many better places around in Ascona! |

The restaurant is ideally located in a pedestrian area by the lake Lago Maggiore, with a fantastic view to lake & mountains (sitting at the terrace on a sunny day is a must). Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated - ancient Rome style (see webpage for some photos). Dim light and canddles in the evening. Quite romantic. The food there is definitely good and high quality. Their speciality "Spaghetti Enzo" with porcini is delicious. Most of all, they manage to combine within their "Nostrana" pizza my 3 favourite toppings: porcini, gorgonzola, rohschinken. The topping is generous. The pizza is big and very tasty. The staff is very nice too. Definitely a place to eat when being around the Locarno area. |
